Community Service/Social Committee
The Community Service Committee strives to make significant and positive contributions through a collective effort of service to local charitable organizations.
The Community Service Committee offers opportunities for WUAR members to engage in various projects that are designed to serve our local communities. Throughout the year, the Community Service Committee sponsors and offers programs for members to get involved.
This committee also plans, promotes, and hosts the Annual Golf Tournament for Charity and other networking opportunities.
In the past, the Community Service Committee has supported local non-profit organizations including Project Angel Wings, Habitat for Humanity, Adopt-a-Family Christmas Project, Safe Haven Shelter, Wounded Warriors, Miracle Hill Ministry, Our Daily Rest, Clemson Community Care, Salvation Army, Haven of Rest, and Hospice of the Upstate.
Grassroots Government Affairs Team
The Grassroots Government Affairs Team supports the Board of Directors and Government Affairs staff by recommending to the Board of Directors positions on public policy issues. The team also works with the board and staff to identify and train members to participate in grassroots lobbying efforts of the association. The team also supports the Government Affairs staff in communicating news about the association’s government affairs program to the members.
Housing Opportunity Committee
The housing opportunity’s goal is to identify programs throughout the state that would provide assistance to those who are seeking their first home. A compilation of these programs will be available to all members for distribution to their customers and clients, saving members countless hours of research.
REALTORS Political Action Committee (RPAC)
The RPAC Committee implements programs designed
to generate funds to be used for political activities, monitor local, state,
and national issues that affect the real estate industry and recommends
positions to the Board of Directors. This committee also plans, promotes, and hosts
annual legislative events.
The Candidate screening committee is appointed
from the Legislative Committee as needed. This committee is responsible for
interviewing candidates for local and state offices. This information is used
to make recommendations or candidate endorsements to make funding requests to
the Realtors Political Action Committee.
