COLUMBIA, S.C. (December 7, 2021) — South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) has awarded upstate broker in charge and owner, William “Andy” Lee, of Lake Keowee Real Estate, with its Realtor® Advocate Award. The award was presented during the association’s gala event at Washington Place in Columbia.
The Realtor® Advocate Award is given annually to a REALTOR® member who demonstrates consistent effort and unwavering commitment as an advocate for the real estate industry.
Lee has served as an advocate at the South Carolina State House and as an active practitioner and broker-in-charge. He took an important leadership role in ensuring the state of South Carolina continues to have an effective regulatory policy as it impacts real estate.
Andy Lee took many hours away from his business and personal time to advocate on behalf of the real estate industry on a broad range of regulatory matters that came before the General Assembly. Most notably, the passage of H.3664, Updated Criminal Background Check Legislation.
He spent a lot of time testifying before committees, meeting with leadership, and educating members of the General Assembly with real-life examples of how regulatory changes can impact communities and businesses.
“Andy is a true advocate for the Realtor® organization and the American Dream. He understands the need to be engaged in local, state and national politics, and consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty to protect and promote quality of life in South Carolina,” said SCR President Morris Lyles.
